Students need to know that they are being supported.  Students are trying to make decisions and do not have the life experience, depending on their journey, age, and personal background.  This is a critical time for Customer Service to listen and get to know the customer's needs.  This is an opportunity to turn things around to a real opportunity to make the experience successful and clear up unknown assumptions.   

Showing up makes a positive impact and can be very powerful. A simple meeting communicates School Commitment and shows that someone cares.

Quitting/withdrawing from school is most often caused by stress.

The school's marketing ultimately sets the student's expectations, wow!

Importance of staying current on both Florida regulations and our own institutional policies. Making sure students get clear, accurate information. Keeping materials organized and up to date to make it easier to support students and answer their questions confidently.  

Helping in all the areas from orientation, to job placement that get the student body involved. Helps the students see the future and can also insure job placement getting better satisfaction from students, staff and employers. There are many ways in this module that will help a school be successful and help with retention. 

Having a more heartfelt graduation can help the students that are in school look forward to their day of graduation. This helps with retention and a goal for the students. Seeing that other students have made the coursework and hardships and have made it, will help them realize that they can do it. 

The mentor can really impact for student retention, giving a struggling student someone to go to for questions or ways to help them complete school will be the helpful tool that your school could need. These mentors will need to have a group meeting of expectations, and a list of faculty and what their job description is to better help students that are struggling or new. A mentor program can be very beneficial to help students navigate through out the program. 

Survey's can be a helpful tool to know if the student knows about the field or if they need more information. Seeing how many time they took interest in your school can help determine if they know what it can take to help stay in school. 

Have the student be involved getting to know classmates and planning activities hands on. A class picture can make them feel like they belong
